Space: Your Organized Frontier, How Organizing Your Personal Space Improves Your Universe
Wednesday, July 24 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 5:30 PM at the David & Joyce Milne Public Library, 1095 Main Street, Williamstown, MA 01267, professional organizer, consultant and speaker Julie Ulmer demystifies decluttering and getting organized to bring order and calm to your world.
Ms. Ulmer is speaking about the space directly surrounding us, in the spirit of the library’s summer reading theme, “Universe of Stories.” For more information about summer events at the David & Joyce Milne Public Library, go to www.milnelibrary.org or call the library at 413-458-5369.
“When our personal space is cluttered and disorderly, our minds probably are as well,” says Ulmer, “excess belongings, items not having designated homes and a mish mosh of miscellany allow chaos to rule.”
Decluttering and adding better organizational systems can benefit all members of a household or office. Imagine finding what you need, when you need it. Not buying duplicates of something you already own and being able to have company stop by without doing a mad dash shoving clutter into closets. Organization and productivity go in hand-in-hand and productivity is more important now than ever with our busy schedules and responsibilities.
Ms. Ulmer shares statistics about clutter, paper overload, and excessive consumerism and how it negatively affects our physical and mental state of being, at home and at work as well as our environment. Attendees will learn how to begin the decluttering and organizing process, where to start, setting goals and what supplies may be needed. Once your personal space is better organized, you’ll want to successfully maintain order, so Ulmer speaks about learning how to build in maintenance to keep your universe tidy.
